Hello and Welcome to my Website

Helping people to lead lives free of emotional and physical discomfort.

I am a professional complementary and alternative therapist, professionally trained in clinical hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, EFT, NLP, CBT and Reiki.

The treatments I use can be used in addition to, or instead of, conventional western medicine. I use a complete system of healing which can be used to treat the whole person; the body, the mind, the spirit, and the emotions to promote health and well being.

For example, when a person is suffering from migraine headaches, I will take a look at all the areas of a person’s lifestyle to find out what  may be causing their headaches. In addition looking at any other health problems, their diet and sleep habits, any stress or personal problems. The treatment plan is then set to relieve their symptoms, and also present changes to their lifestyle to help prevent the headaches from recurring.

Individual Treatment Plans

My mission is to help and support people who are not happy with the results or experiences they have had with Conventional Western Medicine, or that they simply cannot find the answer to their problems. It is my aim to treat everyone as unique and tailor the treatment to the individual; I do not use a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

I believe that patients actually want an answer as to why they have developed their particular problem, and often GP’s just do not have the time to delve so deeply. In the present day NHS, even patients now fully realise that services are limited by the lack of resources, and financial constraints. Increasingly patients are beginning to understand that they have to take responsibility for their own illness.

Complimentary and AlternativeTherapy

I am professionally trained in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy,(person centred approach), EFT(emotional freedom techniques), CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), NLP (neuro linguistic programming), stress management;  and Reiki, these are holistic therapies to promote health and well being.

Maybe over the years you have developed a bad or addictive habit, such as over eating, gambling, smoking, alcohol or drug abuse, and you want to change. Have you developed limiting beliefs that are holding you back from doing things that you would really like to do? Are you grieving the loss of a loved one? Do you suffer with chronic aches and pains that you just cannot seem to get rid of?

Perhaps you would like to be more confident at work, university, school or just around friends. Maybe you would like more confidence in the way you feel about yourself, or help with a phobia. Whatever the issue, a holistic approach to healing can help you. And what is really important is understanding the mind- body connection.

The Mind- Body Connection

The mind and body do not function separately. They are one, and one affects the other. What is very important for overall good health is having good emotional health. However, many things that happen in your life can disrupt your emotional health, and affect the way you feel. Therefore stuff that has happened in your life can lead to strong feelings of sadness, can cause stress or anxiety, which in turn can lead to physical and mental problems.

Health professionals worldwide now recognise that your body responds to the way you think, feel, and act. This is one type of “mind/body connection.” When you are stressed, anxious, or upset, your body reacts in a way that might tell you that something isn’t right. For example, you might develop high blood pressure or a stomach ulcer after a particularly stressful event, such as the death of a loved one. When you are stressed this can affect your sleep patterns and when you are deprived of sleep this raises your stress hormone levels on its own, adding to your stress levels.

Managing Stress Levels

It’s interesting to note that certain emotions are known to be associated with pain in certain regions of your body, even though science cannot give an explanation for why. For example, those suffering from depression will often experience chest pains, even when there’s nothing physically wrong with their heart. Extreme grief (or any other extremely stressful event) can also have a devastating impact—not for nothing is the saying that someone “died from a broken heart.” In the days after losing a loved one, your risk of suffering a heart attack shoots up by 21 times!

What is known is that your brain, and consequently, your thoughts and emotions, do play a role in your experience of physical pain, and can play a significant role in the development of chronic disease. So managing stress is vitally important.

Managing stress involves stopping negative thinking, because the more you focus on negative thoughts, the more power you give them. And lets face it most of our negative thoughts are just that—thoughts, they are not facts. However the unconscious mind is a bit like a young child, and what it hears, it takes literally, so be careful what you think and say. Because once it believes you are that person (useless, hopeless at X) it will then do its best to be what you say you are.

By providing a careful blend of therapies a calmness of mind and changing patterns of thought, behaviour and emotion can be achieved. It is my goal is to help you to overcome your problems in the shortest time possible, to bring about long lasting change and good health
